  1. Open the Timer tab (center icon).
    The Timer is your blank canvas—perfect for silent or sound-enhanced practice. Pick a duration or leave it on No limit for open-ended sessions. (Insight Timer Support)

  2. Choose your atmosphere.
    Tap Ambient Music & Soundscapes to layer ocean waves, deep “Om,” or gentle rain beneath the silence. These loops run seamlessly and help the mind settle. (Contemplative Sciences Center)

  3. Add mindful cues with Interval Bells.
    Select Interval Bells → + Add Bell to drop chimes at any point—use them to refocus every few minutes or to signal posture changes. You can even set repeating or random bells for variety. (Insight Timer Support, Insight Timer Support)

  4. Pick a Start/End bell.
    High-fidelity gongs, crystal bowls, and woodblocks frame your session with a clear beginning and a gentle close.

  5. Save as a Preset.
    Give your setup a name like “Morning Focus 10 min” so you can launch it with one tap tomorrow.

  6. Need guided help?

  7. Create a bedtime ritual.
    In the Sleep section you’ll find music beds and stories. Set your preset to “Sleep Mode” so the screen darkens and sounds fade out when time’s up.
